The mighty Lomnický Peak rising above an open winter landscape is what appeals to me most about this scene. I made only minimal adjustments to the composition, as the scenery itself offered almost everything I wanted to convey in the painting. The snowy landscape before sunset breathes with stillness and peace as the winter day comes to an end. The young trees in the foreground symbolize the birth of new life and remind us that spring will soon arrive. The painting seems to let a person pause for a moment, take a breath and feel the space, silence and a sense of new beginnings beneath the majestic mountains.
