About Me and My Work
Painting is a part of my life and an opportunity for creativity and self-expression. I mainly focus on realistic landscape painting, occasionally on portraits. I currently paint mainly in oils, previously in acrylics.
I come from Poprad, a town beneath the High Tatra Mountains, where I still live and create. Drawing and the desire to capture the world around me have attracted me since childhood. During that time, I also attended art school, but I continued to develop as a self-taught painter. Later, I devoted myself more intensively to drawing comics. After a long creative break, I returned to art in 2019, this time focusing on landscape painting.
I seek inspiration in nature, where I find a connection of the soul with the beauty of creation. Since I live beneath the mountains, the mountain landscape and the light that can change its atmosphere hold a special place in my work. Most of my paintings depict places that I have personally visited and with which I associate a particular experience or memory. When painting, I often use my own photographs of these places. Through painting, I try to capture on canvas not only the true appearance of the landscape, but also its atmosphere and the feeling it left in me. I therefore sometimes adjust the composition of a landscape or combine its actual appearance with my own vision or the wishes of others. Through my paintings, I want to convey the beauty of God’s creation as it was given to us and as I myself see and experience it.
