The painting captures an iconic view of Lomnický Peak in the High Tatras from the foothills. The faithfully depicted peak is combined with an imagined foreground of houses based on a gentleman’s idea and a snowy road, adding depth to the landscape and a sense of wide-open space where one can breathe in freedom. The mighty mountain range inspires respect, while at the same time bringing a special sense of protection and peace.
