The painting was inspired by the idea of a certain gentleman with a passion for sunflowers. The result is a composition in which the Tatra Mountains in the background are real and only altered in colour, while the sunflower field and the path are imagined. By combining the real landscape with my imagination, a place emerged that does not actually exist, but easily could in our imagination. The wide-open space, bright sunflowers and mountains in the distance give a sense of freedom and a desire to follow the path and keep going.
