The painting was inspired by the desire of a couple to have a reminder of the beauty of their homeland and their favourite summer flowers in their home. The real Tatra Mountains in the background meet a partially imagined rapeseed field and large flowers in the foreground. This gives the landscape depth and opens it up into a wide space. Its bright summer atmosphere evokes a feeling of the warmth of home and joy, which I tried to convey in the painting.
