The idea for this painting came during one of my walks through my favourite meadows around the village of Mengusovce. On a summer day, I was drawn to a forest path winding between tall pine trees, with a view of the Tatras in the distance. Sunlight filtering through the trees creates a play of light and shadow on the path and grass, giving this quiet place its inviting atmosphere. It was this combination of light, tall trees, the winding path and the Tatra landscape in the background that inspired me to capture this scene on canvas. The path disappearing among the trees almost invites you to continue further and discover what lies beyond the next bend.
