This painting was inspired by a gentleman’s idea that brought together a real wooden cabin with a landscape inspired by the fairy tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The combination of realistic nature and a fairytale atmosphere within an imagined composition gives the whole scene a special charm. The illuminated forest in the background gives the painting depth and a certain sense of mystery, while the water, grass and trees appear almost real. It is this contrast between reality and fantasy that awakens in us a childlike desire to believe that such a place might really exist somewhere and that, if only for a moment, we could step into its fairytale atmosphere.
