The painting was inspired by a lady’s admiration for the vibrant colours of autumn. The realism of the landscape is complemented by a light touch of Impressionism in the colours and mood of the painting. Kriváň bathed in warm light, together with the colours of the autumn landscape, creates the atmosphere of a radiant evening beneath the mountains.
