The second painting in the My Father’s Birth Home series captures the same place in summer. This subject holds a special place in my work and is one of the closest to my heart, as it is deeply connected with my childhood and family. It is a view of the Tatra village of Ždiar and the Belianske Tatras, dominated by the distinctive Ždiarska Vidla peak. My father was born in this house, and I spent part of my childhood there. This painting also developed from searching for the right view directly at the location, through creating the final composition to the painting itself, with every part of the process bringing back memories of the moments I spent there. The summer landscape, full of greenery and light, gives this place a different atmosphere from its winter appearance, yet the feeling of returning to it remains the same in my mind.
